The Double Current Morse Key

A brass key with a round, glass-topped cover and a switch to set the key for either sending or receiving. A more sophisticated switch which always leaves a current on the cable

Whereas the Single Current design only put a current on the line when the key was pressed, the Double Current design incorporated a permanent line current.

How it worked
When the key was pressed it reversed the polarity of the line current until the key was released again.
