Taking the coastal path which descends via steep steps past the Minack Theatre, you arrive at Porthcurno beach. On the left is what used to be the smallest house in Porthcurno, now with its windows and door blocked up. There are two tiny rooms inside with a staircase and it was built as a very superior beach hut by Rowena Cade, the founder of the Minack Theatre.

Further up the beach on the same side, the date 1812 is carved into the rock with the letter ‘F’. It is not known who carved it or why.
