By car

Porthcurno is situated just three miles away from Land's End, the most south-westerly point of Cornwall.

If you are driving from Penzance, follow the signs to Land's End on the A30. Turn left at the sign for St Buryan, "Wartime Telegraph Museum" (that's us!) and "Minack Theatre". Keep going straight through St Buryan village and after about 2 miles of narrow lanes, take the left turn to Porthcurno. Non-disabled visitors park at the main car park at the bottom of the hill where there is a charge from Easter to September.

Public transport

Take bus number 1, 1a or 345 from Penzance bus station which is next to the train station. The buses stop at the main Porthcurno car park, 2 minutes walk from the museum which is clearly signposted.

For detailed information on bus times, accessibility and routes to Porthcurno, please contact Traveline on tel: 0871 200 22 33 or via the website Traveline South West

The route from the bus stop to the museum is not currently accessible to wheelchair users.

Parking and access for disabled visitors

Parking for disabled drivers and passengers is available close to the museum. From the main valley road turn left at the disabled parking sign into Old Cable Lane. There are three parking bays on the left about half way down the lane. From there, access to the museum is down a slope which is not suitable for some wheelchair users or those with severe mobility difficulties. Therefore, if you are a disabled driver, please drive right to the end of the lane and park right outside the museum. Museum staff will advise and direct you if necessary.

For disabled visitors being driven by non-disabled drivers, there is an area right outside the museum entrance where passengers can be dropped off.

For visitors with disabilities wishing to travel by public transport, information on the accessibility of buses 1, 1a and 354 which serve Porthcurno can be obtained from the Traveline service. This can be accesssed on the telephone 0871 200 22 33 or website: Traveline South West.

Once inside, the whole of the museum is accessible for wheelchair users and we offer a variety of visual, audio and tactile displays. We are also happy to offer individual assistance wherever we can.

Carers accompanying disabled visitors are admitted free of charge if they wish.

If you have any questions about access please contact us on 01736 810966 and we will be happy to advise.
